Description: Enables periodic file monitoring that can detect and report changes between full scans. How it works: The File Monitor module runs at a set interval and records change events that can feed the dashboard and alerts. How to access / configure: WP Admin → AegisShield → File Integrity (or File Monitor subpanel). Enable File Monitor. Set interval and Save Changes. Recommended setting: Enable with a 15-minute interval on most sites; increase interval if hosting resources are limited.

Description: Controls how many historical integrity scan reports are kept. How it works: AegisShield stores scan_history up to scan_history_limit and prunes older entries to keep storage predictable. How to access / configure: WP Admin → AegisShield → File Integrity. Set Scan History Limit. Save changes. Recommended setting: Keep at least 10 reports; increase if you want longer trend visibility.

Email Alert Threshold

Description: Sets which integrity findings should trigger email alerts (Pro-oriented behavior). How it works: When a scan produces findings at or above the configured threshold, AegisShield can send notifications to configured recipients. How to access / configure: WP Admin → AegisShield → File Integrity. Set Email Alert Threshold (e.g., High only). Configure recipients in File Monitor email settings and Save Changes. Recommended setting: Alert on High-risk changes only to reduce noise; investigate immediately when triggered.

Description: Schedules integrity scans to run automatically at a chosen cadence. How it works: AegisShield uses WordPress scheduling to run scans and updates last scan metadata for dashboard summaries. How to access / configure: WP Admin → AegisShield → File Integrity. Choose Auto Scan Frequency (daily/weekly etc.). Save changes. Recommended setting: Weekly is a good default; daily for high-risk or frequently changed sites.

Description: A dashboard preview of recent alert-worthy events and notifications. How it works: When alert rules are enabled (Pro), the dashboard can show a preview of what would be emailed or flagged. How to access / configure: WP Admin → AegisShield → Dashboard. Review “Alert Center preview”. Open Activity Log / Alerts for full history. Recommended setting: Configure alert rules to notify only on high-risk events to avoid alert fatigue.

Security Events (Last 24 Hours)

Description: A quick list of the most important security events seen in the last 24 hours. How it works: AegisShield pulls high-signal events from modules and displays them in a compact feed for fast review. How to access / configure: WP Admin → AegisShield → Dashboard. Review “Security events (last 24 hours)”. Open Activity Log for full context. Recommended setting: Treat repeated failed logins and any malware/integrity alerts as urgent.

DB Tools High Activity (7d)

Description: Summarizes database maintenance actions (optimize/repair) and growth alerts over the last 7 days. How it works: DB Tools events are logged and bucketed so you can validate maintenance and detect unusual DB behavior. How to access / configure: WP Admin → AegisShield → Dashboard. View “DB Tools High Activity (7d)”. Open DB Tools for details. Recommended setting: Enable growth monitoring on sites where database bloat is a recurring issue.

File Integrity Bursts (14d)

Description: Shows periods with unusual file change activity, which can indicate updates—or compromise. How it works: AegisShield aggregates file-monitor/integrity events into burst counts so you can spot abnormal change clusters. How to access / configure: WP Admin → AegisShield → Dashboard. View “File Integrity Bursts (14d)”. Click into File Integrity findings around burst dates. Recommended setting: Expect bursts during update windows; unexpected bursts outside maintenance require investigation.

Module Risk Index (7d)

Description: Visualizes relative risk across modules so you can see where attention is needed. How it works: Each module contributes a risk score based on its findings (e.g., lockouts, file changes, malware suspects, header posture). How to access / configure: WP Admin → AegisShield → Dashboard. View “Module Risk Index (7d)”. Open the highest-risk module and address findings. Recommended setting: Prioritize high-risk modules first; aim to keep all modules at low/medium risk.

High-Impact Changes (7d)

Description: Shows notable admin and system changes over the last 7 days (plugins enabled/disabled, admin changes). How it works: AegisShield summarizes high-impact Activity Log categories to make change review fast. How to access / configure: WP Admin → AegisShield → Dashboard. View “High‑Impact Changes (7d)”. Click through to Activity Log for full details. Recommended setting: Review this weekly; unexpected plugin/theme changes are a common incident indicator.
